E100 Challenge

Most pastors, regardless of their denomination or theological perspective, want their people to read the Bible regularly. The problem is most people get bogged down with traditional through-the-Bible reading plans so they just give up.

That’s why Scripture Union USA with American Bible Society developed the ‘E100 Challenge’ for church communities. It is simple, achievable and creates a contagious enthusiasm for reading the Bible.  The E100 is a carefully selected list of short Bible passages - 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament that enable people to get the big picture of God's Word.

Here is what two participants said about the E100 Challenge:

I have attempted to read through the Bible many times and never made it. Never before have I found such revelation in God’s word. I have passed these booklets on to many people. I’m looking forward to reading the Bible again and again. Thanks E100 Team!”

Youth Leader: “We are (taking) our Senior High students through the E-100; we are just finishing up the Gospels now. I absolutely love the program! I am excited every Wednesday night when I get to share the true gold of the Scriptures with our students.”

The follow-up survey carried out with those that use the program shows that pastors rated it “excellent”. It helped their congregants get a good overview of the Bible, read and study the Bible, and it improved their relationship with God and increased the frequency of their Bible reading.  Across the USA pastors all say the same thing: “The E100 Challenge is the one Bible reading program people actually enjoy and complete.” In short...The Challenge works!

The Essential 100 Challenge has reached over 50,000 people in the US and is now being launched nationwide in Australia and New Zealand, with other countries lining up.
